Who is Peter the Roman?




Peter II, Peter the Roman or Peter the Roman is the assumed name be adopted by the last pope, according to some interpretations of the known as St. Malachy Prophecy.

Many Catholics give credence to those prophecies, hence its relevance and popularity. According to them, the last pope to be known as Peter the Roman, being the second pontiff to bear this name after the first of all, it was St. Peter. This character appears related to the end of the world and the second coming of Christ.

Motto

This corresponds to the last pope motto strangely Malachi did not list like the other 111 previous popes. Their motto is the most extensive, detailed and descriptive, thus indicating that the latter course would not equal papacy none of the above and would face extraordinary events not occurred since the beginning of the church. Malachi stated in the motto that the church would be persecuted as in the days of the Roman emperors. The slogan reads:

"In extreme persecutione sedebit SRE. Petrus Romanus,

& Judex tremedus iudicabit populum suum. "

There are those who doubt the authenticity of the prophecies. Also, among those who give credit to them, there are multiple interpretations on this course last pope.

On the destruction of the city of seven hills has been thinking since the destruction of the city of Rome to the physical destruction of the Vatican doctrinal and with it the very purpose of the Catholic Church.
