Emotionally , Elisa always defined as " a romantic " . He liked the cheesy movies and sometimes spent the afternoon watching tapes at home, eating Nutella. Her boyfriend, a young Chinese man who was his college classmate , had a good relationship with her. The couple liked to go to dinner and have fun , shared his passion for film and liked to take pictures together. They had a good time hanging out and the relationship had the potential to become something more formal. They had talked about living together, but Elisa wanted to do some more projects before , like traveling .

In 2012 , Elisa ended his career at the University of British Columbia. A graduation attended family, boyfriend and close friends . She was radiant and he told them all that this was the beginning of a new stage in her life . His parents never ceased to tell everyone how proud they were of her daughter.
One of them was seeking budget hotels. Internet and soon sailed gave one to stay in Los Angeles, whose pictures he liked . Soon I made the reservation . It was the Hotel Cecil . Located in downtown Los Angeles at 640 S. Main Street. It is a two star budget hotel with 600 rooms ( they were originally 700). Built in 1927, the hotel is designed for business travelers , but then gained a reputation as a home for transients. Cecil was quickly overshadowed by the more glamorous hotels . Located near the Skid Row area , began renting rooms to long-term low prices , a policy that drew a crowd of sinister characters .
